Auditions: Fall Production of Peter Blackmore’s “Miranda”

The Ivy lane Players are holding auditions at the Levittown Public Library, 1 Bluegrass Lane, Levittown on August 18, 21 and 22 from 8 to 10 PM for “Miranda” by Peter Blackmore.
 
Performance dates:  October 27, 28, 29 and November 3, 4 and 5.  Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  Sides will be provided.
 
Characters:
Betty (age range:  25+).  The Martens’ maid. Engaged to Charles.
Isobel (age range:  18-40).  Claire’ friend.  Hat designer.   Engaged to Nigel
Miranda Trewella (age range:  18-30): The Marten’s houseguest.  Wheelchair-bound.  Must be carried from wheelchair to sofa and back as well as off stage.
Clare Marten (age range: 20+) Paul’s wife
Nurse Carey (age range 30-70). Private duty nurse retained by Dr. Marten to care for Miranda.
Charles (age range 25+). The Martens’ chauffeur.  Engaged to Betty.
Nigel Hood (age range 18-40). An artist.  Engaged to Isobel.
Sir Paul Marten (age range:  30+).  A physician in private practice.  Isobel’s husband. 
 
Each of the three males cast must be able to physically lift and carry Miranda (who cannot walk) for a short distance for a minute or so during rehearsals and performances.
